Sound piece

Sound Piece "Me Too"

Clay, acrylic paint, nail polish

For this piece I wanted to create a statement piece on the Me Too movement. Each piece is a different shape but has the same color to show unity. Just like the experiences unite the people in this movement. I used gold to represent the preciousness of ones own body and to show that there shouldnt be a feeling of shame for ones own body.

50 pieces

50 Ceramic Pieces
Ceramic, acrylic paint, glaze, pastel, and nail polish

With each piece I explored the different ways to use texture and color. I explored different ways of applying color such as glaze, paint, pastels, and nail polish.

For the first set I explored flat textures that mimics nature in a way. The second set was an experiment with interlinking clay pieces, I wanted to make them a bit darker than the rest. The third set are more objective and use an array of bright colors. After that is a darker piece that mimics human forms and interlocking pieces. The next set is black paint with a irridecent nail polish, on top of the black it creates a oil spill type of color. It made me think of the inside of oyster shells. This next set was an exploration of ribbons of clay and folding. The pieces following were experimental.
